What do I
pack?
While the resort is a delightful, friendly
and elegant place, nobody wears a coat and tie unless they are
attending a special event. Click on the photos button to see
pictures of vacationers enjoying all of the excitement that
Punta Islita has to offer!
Do I have to cook my own meals?
The villa has a fully equipped kitchen at your disposal, however
most guests choose to enjoy the many restaurants on the resort
including room service. The hotel stocks the refridgerator with
typical mini-bar refreshments. If you would prefer to cook some
of your own meals, however, you can make arrangements with the
hotel in advance to have the kitchen stocked with typical
groceries and items you may need.
Do I need a car?
The villa is about 700 feet from the ocean and a 10 minute walk
to the main hotel, spa and pool. We provide a golf cart which
can accomodate 4 people around the resort. Larger groups may
want to make arrangements with the hotel for an additional golf
cart or car rental.
What kind of shopping is present?
While there are gift shops as well as local artisan shops
nearby, this is not a shopping destination.
What is the nightlife like?
Punta Islita is not in a city so the night life and shopping are
limited to what the resort can provide. Ticos (Costa Ricans)
tend to dine outdoors after sunset and meals are a
leisurely and enjoyable experience enhanced by the breath-taking
beauty of the surroundings. Guests can arrange for dinner or a
spa treatment on the beach, take an evening starlight swim or
enjoy any of the many opportunities that the resort offers. The
villa is equipped with satellite and a tv so watching a great
movie is also fun.
